Orientation Quarter Timeline
Online Orientation Modules
Weeks 1-3
Every student, accepted or waitlisted, is required to complete online orientation modules. Each student is assigned the appropriate modules for their program, to be completed online by the Required Materials Deadline. Topics that are addressed in these modules include immigration matters, travel arrangements, health and safety.

Academic and Cultural Orientation Session (Quarter-length Programs Only)
Weeks 5-7
Each program will have one two-hour academic and cultural orientation. The academic information will include a panel presentation with the Stanford Faculty-in-Residence member who will be teaching at the program center during the participants' term abroad, a UAR advisor and the BOSP academic coordinator. Issues such as the program culture's academic expectations, assessment methods, and course offerings at the Stanford center abroad.
The cultural information will include discussions of intercultual communication and cultural differences, as well as a presentation by our Student Advisors. Topics for the presentation include packing, money and banking, food, cultural highlights, and program opportunities.
General Orientation Session (Consortium Programs Only)
Weeks 5-7
Consortium programs will meet for one two-hour general orientation. Logistical, academic and cultural information will be covered, as well as visa information when applicable.
General Orientation Sessions (Overseas Seminars Only)
Weeks 1-9
Faculty leaders for your seminar will be in touch with you regarding the required orientation sessions for your program.
