As one of my friends back at Stanford predicted, although I had a hard time leaving America, I came to love Japan so much it was hard to come back. Yes, goodbyes are hard. But sometimes you have to say goodbye, at least for a while, to have a new adventure.
At the end of the winter quarter my junior year, I was in desperate need of a break from my everyday routine. I had just completed a difficult course load and, while I was sad to say bye to my family and friends, I was looking forward to a new experience.
Study with Professor Terry Moe, Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution and a Professor in the Political Science Department. He will be teaching abroad in Kyoto next Spring, 2013.
Stanford in Kyoto will be offering an additional quarter for the 2012-13 academic year. A Winter quarter in Kyoto will give students an additional chance to study anything from Japanese history to pop culture to engineering whilst on the program. The prerequisite for the program will be JAPANLNG 1 and further language course offerings will be available during the program for varying levels of Japanese.
