PhD research explained through interpretive dance

In this video, Maureen McKeague, a PhD candidate in Chemistry at Carleton University, explains her research project (“Selection of a DNA aptamer for homocysteine using SELEX”) through interpretive dance. McKeague writes:

My project involves finding an aptamer for homocysteine as it is implicated in many serious health problems such as heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease and birth defects. Finding an appropriate homocysteine aptamer would allow the creation of simple and rapid clinical diagnostics.

The dance routine was submitted as part of a contest run by Science called “Dance Your PhD.”
