This series will bring to Stanford scholars, politicians, philanthropists, and industry leaders who have impacted diversity in a unique and effective manner. These professionals will be asked to share how they have impacted diversity or changed the understanding of diversity in a profound way.
Through an interactive and intimate seminar series, Stanford graduate students will have the opportunity to hear the personal insight and stories of these leaders. The format will be a roundtable discussion with a small group of graduate students.
This seminar series seeks to provide a resource for graduate students who are interested in issues of diversity and strategies to impact change.

Bernadine Chuck Fong Bernadine Chuck Fong, Ph.D, is a pioneer in education reform, community building, and organizational development to enhance the success of the underserved in higher education. As President Emerita of Foothill College, Dr. Fong directed Foothill College Foundation's developmental mathematics initiative for 30 community colleges and universities in eight states. Through this initiative, the foundation expanded the community network and infrastructure to increase student success through the improvement of the practice of teaching. As senior managing partner of The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, she has led solutions to address one of the nation’s most significant educational improvement problems: the extraordinarily high failure rates among students in developmental mathematics in community colleges.
