Getting Through Your Graduate Program
Requirements for graduate studies, student academic progress, and financial support for graduate students are handled by each department and program, consistent with underlying university-wide policies and procedures.
Stanford’s decentralized organizational structure can sometimes make it hard to navigate.
Whenever you need help, keep in mind Stanford's organizational structure. Start with your advisor and the staff in your department. Next, try the dean's office for your school. Here are resources to help in three areas of concern to many graduate students.

Graduate studies at Stanford provides you the opportunity to explore widely and grow intellectually. Taking advantage of these resources will better prepare you to be a leader in our complex global society. In addition to the coursework and other experiences in your department or program, we urge you to take advantage of all that the university has to offer. The Graduate Life Office (GLO) is a comprehensive resource for information and advice on graduate student life. The Graduate Community Center (GCC) houses the GLO and also has meeting rooms and a pub.
