Behind the Scenes
A facility designed with patient needs in mind also helps our physicians provide the best care possible. The Cancer Center facilitates Stanford's multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, which encourages experts from different specialties to work together and plan customized treatments for patients.
Specially designed clinic rooms enable teams of caregivers, which may include medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists, research nurses, social workers, and trainees, to visit comfortably with a patient.
In fact, most of Stanford's cancer services are consolidated in this facility, fostering a team approach and allowing you to stay in one location for your procedures and tests.
In addition, we've dramatically increased the number of chemotherapy infusion stations to make scheduling an appointment easier, and added even more advanced technologies for diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, and surgery.
