Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation Program

Stem Cell Processing

The Stanford Cellular Therapeutics and Transplantation Laboratory is the principal cell processing and cryogenic storage facility supporting stem cell transplantation therapies at Stanford.

More

The Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) Research Program is the investigative arm of the Bone Marrow Program at Stanford, which performs autologous and allogeneic transplantations for approximately 200 adult and 30 pediatric patients each year. Program researchers conduct cross-disciplinary research into the molecular and genetic underpinnings of hematological disorders, improving patient outcomes through clinical research into new treatments and complementary therapies.

In collaboration with the Center for Clinical Immunology at Stanford, the program is developing new ways to boost the immune tolerance of transplanted blood or marrow-derived stem cells while its state-of-the-art laboratory is exploring novel cellular and vaccine-based therapies that target hematologic disease at its most basic origins. Clinical trials at the Stanford Cancer Center ensure the smooth translation of these research findings into the most advanced patient care available today.

Drawing on member expertise in stem cell biology, immunology, imaging and cellular manipulation, the Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation Research Program advances patient outcome through investigation into the following areas:
