Understanding Cancer Clinical Trials 
Stanford Cancer Institute Clinical Trials Recruitment
The Stanford Cancer Institute is working to improve clinical trials recruitment. More participation and diversity in clinical trials can help advance emerging therapies, care, prevention and detection of cancers.
Stanford Cancer Institute also engages in community partnerships to deliver training, education and outreach about cancer clinical trials. Recruitment and financial resource information are also through the Stanford Cancer Clinical Trials Office.
National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Information Service
The Cancer Information Service explains clinical trials to callers and conducts tailored searches of NCI’s PDQ database of more than 1,800 ongoing cancer clinical trials. Searches are based on type of cancer, stage of cancer, type of therapy desired, previous treatments, and specific geographic areas. Results are mailed, faxed, or sent by e-mail within 24 hours of the call. Contact the National Cancer Institute.
National Cancer Institute’s Clinical Trials Education Series
To help raise general awareness of clinical trials, the NCI has the Clinical Trials Education Series (CTES) available for health providers, organizations, coalitions, and advocates to use as training and education tools. CTES is designed to help health professionals educate patient and community groups about this important but often overlooked aspect of cancer medicine.
