Bliss Carnochan Lectures/Visitors
The Bliss Carnochan Lecture was established in 1992 and is presented annually to honor Bliss Carnochan, the Richard W. Lyman Professor of Humanities, Emeritus, and director of the Humanities Center from 1985 to 1991. The name was changed from "Bliss Carnocan Lectures" to "Bliss Carnochan Visitors" in 2009 to reflect the one-month residency of these individuals at the Humanities Center.
