The School of Medicine promotes an ethic of public service through student-run free clinics, coordinated community partnerships and a variety of centers and programs.
Office of Global Health
- Coordinates coursework, research and overseas service for students interested in the healthcare challenges of an interdependent world.
Office of Community Health
- Trains future leaders in community health, disseminates community health scholarship and enhances local health via community-academic partnerships.
Cardinal Free Clinics

Provide primary care services to under- and uninsured children and adults in San Mateo, Santa Clara and Alameda counties.
Pediatric Advocacy Program
Center for Education in Family and Community Medicine

Offers specialty training for students and residents interested in primary care medicine;
includes the Geriatric Education Center, which educates health-care professionals about the unique health and social service needs of older adults.
