Welcome to Hillel at Stanford, providing undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, local alumni, as well as members of the Bay Area Jewish community with a connection to Jewish life. Hillel at Stanford is open weekdays, most evenings and weekends, too, for you to drop by, hang out, nap (we have sofas!), meet friends, do a problem set, watch TV or grab a snack from our café. Kosher Dining: Stanford Dining, in partnership with Hillel at Stanford and Residential Education, offers four kosher dinners a week at Florence Moore residence. Students can use their meal plan or pay per meal for dinners on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:15-6:15 pm. The meals are cooked in Hillel’s supervised kosher kitchen, brought to the dorm and served in a special serving area. In addition, each Shabbat Stanford Dining will cook and serve kosher Shabbat dinner at Hillel for all interested students. Eating at Hillel: Hillel at Stanford provides kosher meals each week at various programs, including educational lunch classes and Shabbat dinners. We have two kosher kitchens, one strictly kosher cooking kitchen, and a second “prep” kitchen that is available for all to use in the Taube Hillel House. There is always food in the refrigerator and students are encouraged to feel right at home and raid the fridge. The kitchen at Hillel is under the supervision of the local Orthodox rabbi, Yitzchok Feldman, of Congregation Emek Beracha in Palo Alto and a member of the executive committee of the Vaad HaKashrut of Northern California. Kashrut and Residence Life: Undergraduate students who keep kosher often choose to live in one of the two vegetarian cooperative row houses. Others live in the residence on campus that has individual kitchens. Still others live in one of the more general residences and request kosher meat from the dining hall within that residence. Graduate students cook in their own kitchens.

Markets: There are a few grocery stores nearby that carry many kosher products, though none are explicitly kosher markets.
