Mini-grants of $300-$500 for summer travel to Israel for Stanford undergraduate students
Applications are simple. Please submit a one page narrative to Nadav Savaya at [email protected] by May 15. In your proposal, please include answers to the following questions:
- How do you plan to spend time in Israel? (Study, work, research, internship, volunteer, travel through a program?)
- What is your total budget for the trip, and what other resources are available to you to help support your travel? (Other Jewish organization sponsorship, Stanford grants, family, personal earnings, etc.)
- Describe your previous travel experiences in Israel.
- How do you anticipate that an Israel travel experience will impact your personal development, and how might you contribute back to Jewish life on campus or in the broader community?
After a personal interview with Nadav, applicants will be notified of grant awards by May 31. Grant funds will be issued in June, 2012, and by September 15, grantees are expected to write a one page narrative with photographs for Hillel publicity and archives.

$20,000 Award for Bay Area College Students to study in Israel – Haas/Koshland Award
Each year, the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund invites students to apply for the Haas/Koshland Memorial Award, which provides up to $20,000 to support a year of study and personal development in Israel. The award is open to college students, from sophomore year through graduate school, who are from, or attend school in the San Francisco Bay Area. Birthright Israel Excel
Hillel at Stanford has been specifically selected for targeted recruitment for this exciting summer opportunity!! Birthright Israel Excel is a selective 10-week summer fellowship program in Israel for talented American Jewish undergraduate students (currently sophomores, juniors and seniors) who are pursuing careers in business, technology, biotech, marketing and social media. Each Birthright Israel Excel Fellow will intern at a prominent multinational Israeli company, travel to Israeli sites, meet with prominent members of the business, political and academic communities, and join an exclusive community of future global Jewish business and technology leaders. Upon return from Israel, Birthright Israel Excel participants will be paired with business mentors in the U.S. The goal of the mentor program is to further broaden the participants’ understanding of global economics, decision making and social responsibility. All expenses associated with flights, housing and group programming will be covered by Birthright Israel Excel. This program is open (but not exclusive) to Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni. WUJS Israel Hadassah - WUJS Israel Hadassah runs a 5-month program for Jewish college graduates from around the world between ages 21 and 35. The program offers specialized tracks: Jerusalem Learning, Intern Jerusalem, Arts Program and Intern Tel Aviv. WUJS participants up to age 30 qualify for grants from Project MASA. AMIRIM- A summer volunteering program in Israel for college students and young professionals ages 18-27. The participants live in Jerusalem, in Arad or beside Tel Aviv and volunteer for non-profit organizations four times a week, explore the Israeli landscape through weekly day-trips and discover Israeli culture & society through different educational and cultural events.
