Student Internships and Opportunities 2011-2012

Hillel at Stanford is pleased to announce another year of student internship positions, thanks to the generosity of the Koret Foundation. Koret Interns work as annual student members of our Hillel staff on areas related to our operations.

Alumni Affairs and Events Intern
In this role, you will assist our Development team’s stewardship of alumni. You will support fundraising events for young alumni, alumni, and parent events that take place across the country and on-campus for Parents Weekend, and Reunion, and manage student fundraising with a phone-a-thon and senior gift campaign. You are a strong writer and detail oriented. Design and tech skills highly desired, but not required.

Student Building Manager (SBM)

SBM’s make a difference! They are an integral part of the Hillel at Stanford Team. Among other things, responsibilities include welcoming all who come through our doors, answering phones, monitoring conditions of the facilities, enforcing policies and procedures, and assisting Hillel staff.

Israel Birthright Intern
This person will be fortunate to work closely with the wonderful Israel fellow, Nadav Savaia, on recruiting new participants to the 10 day free trip. This will be done by taking students to meals (Hillel pays!) talking about their summer plans and show them the way to the Promised Land. The role includes arranging a reunion, Shabbat dinner for the new cohort, helping to prepare the sessions before the trip, being in touch with all participants before the trip, answering questions and much more. The role is open for people who are passionate about Israel and have been there before. Social skills are very important.

Up to 10 hours a week, flexible hours, 11$/hour- not including your meals! Participating in a conference (by your choice, fully covered) is a treat reserved only for Israel Interns. Masa –longer programs in Israel
Masa is the umbrella organization which helps students find the best program for them in Israel, provides grants and helps with all logistical aspects of working, volunteering, having internships or studying. The student who will get this desired role will enjoy the lovely company of Nadav, the great Israel fellow, will learn from him, and have a chance to take students to breakfast, lunch or dinner, talk about life in Israel and how it relates to this individual. This position requires excellent social skills, creativity, and passion about Israel! Up to 10 hours a week, flexible hours, 11$/hour- not including your meals! Participating in a conference (by your choice, fully covered) is a treat reserved only for Israel Interns.
