Hillel provides resources for the furthering of leadership and networking opportunities for Jewish students at Stanford. For more information, contact Jeremy Ragent.
Groups include:
The Jewish Students Association: The JSA strives to provide fun and inclusive social, cultural, and educational programming for the entire Stanford Jewish community - and for anyone in the greater Stanford community with an interest in Jewish life and culture. Our main goals are to help people have fun, learn about Jewish life and practice, identify with Jewish heritage, and make friends and connections in the context of a warm Jewish community.
GESHER: Grad and Young Professionals Group: Hillel at Stanford welcomes graduate students and young professionals to join this lively group, with monthly “First Friday” Shabbat dinners and delicious dessert onegs; pub nights at a local bar on the second Thursday of each month; and other great programs throughout the year.
JQ (Jewish Queers): Jewish Queers (JQ) is a group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and allied Jewish students. Our events include an annual “Coming Out…of Egypt Seder,” guest speakers, film screenings, and field trips to queer Jewish events in the Bay Area. Our events are open to the entire Stanford community.
Stanford Israel Alliance (SIA): SIA is the pro-Israel, pro-peace student group at Stanford University. We aim to educate the Stanford community about Israel and the Middle East through events focusing on both culture ad politics.
Challah for Hunger: Raise money and awareness for hunger through the production and sale of challah bread. The Stanford chapter volunteers gather weekly to bake from scratch- and sell to the community. Profits go to local and national charities.
AEPi: AEPi is a brotherhood of individuals with diverse ethnic, religious, and political backgrounds who come together to have fun and add a little bit of spice to campus life. It’s a fraternity for men who want to be more than just frat boys. AEPi has a very strong presence on campus, with strong ties to the Jewish community, good sorority relationships, a tradition of community service, and, of course, unique parties like the Banzai Bash and quarterly Margarita Nights.
AEPhi: In 2008, seven Stanford women founded our AEPhi colony based on their desire to bring Jewish women, as well as women of all faiths, creeds, backgrounds, and beliefs, together in the close bonds of sisterhood. Since then, AEPhi has grown into a strong presence on campus.
JWeb: An innovative relationship network, JWEB is comprised of a group of 5-10 Jewish students who proactively form relationships with other students, creating a web of interconnectedness on campus. They work creatively, with training and weekly support from Hillel at Stanford staff, to help build connections.
J Street U Stanford: This is an advocacy, education and dialogue organization that considers itself pro-Israel, pro-Palestine and pro-peace. It advocates for US leadership in a two state solution, it educates on issues in Israel and Palestine, and facilitates constructive, intelligent discourse.
