Industry Relationships
Stanford faculty may interact with industry partners or other commercial entities to help develop new products, devices or services or to provide education content about topics of mutual interest. They may receive payment from the company for various services, including consulting, service on boards, educational activities including giving talks, legal and business consultations, and licensing agreements. It is our policy to disclose (on an annual basis for the preceding year) payments (exclusive of travel support) from, and/or equity in, companies or other commercial entities to Stanford faculty of $5,000 or more in total value, as well an any equity in a privately held company, when the faculty member also has institutional responsibilities related to his or her interactions with the company.
