Electives

Elective courses provide opportunities to tailor your academic experience to meet your personal career goals and needs. About 100 electives are taught each year; enrollment in these classes can be dependent on prerequisite knowledge, and/or whether they conflict with required Sloan classes.

  • The GSB faculty research is reflected in the electives offered, giving students exposure to these fresh ideas before they begin to have an impact on society at large.
  • Elective courses address a wide range of topics: global issues such as economics, and supply chains; financial markets, entrepreneurship topics, and issues of sustainability and social responsibility.
  • Some electives are cross disciplinary, mixing resources from the Business School with other parts of Stanford University such as the schools of Law or Medicine, interdisciplinary programs in environment and resources, and public policy.
