Sloan Fellows are the program's greatest resource. They are experienced, accomplished, and ready to take on senior leadership positions in their organizations. Each Sloan class is selected to represent a mix of countries, industries, functional backgrounds, and experiences. Most Sloan Fellows have worked in a number of countries before coming to the Stanford Business School and approximately half have already had their first assignment as a general manager.

The Sloan Program engenders a camaraderie and collaborative environment that encourages the Fellows to form lasting friendships. Sloan Fellows work in diverse teams of peers throughout the Program on class presentations and projects. The diversity of the class means that Fellows from different types of industries and from varying professional backgrounds learn from one another as well as from the faculty.

Sloan Fellows are selected on the basis of their past accomplishments, and their potential to take on the most senior leadership positions in their organizations.
