Academics

Expanding your business knowledge and skills

The Stanford Sloan Program helps you get in touch with leading-edge thinking. The Business School takes advantage of interdisciplinary collaboration among Stanford’s seven schools to fuel discussion of innovative solutions to pressing business and global issues. As a Sloan Fellow you will be prepared to move from your past experience to higher levels of general management that are key to the next phase of your career.

The Experience

  • The year starts in mid-July with required courses that provide foundational knowledge for elective classes taken during the subsequent academic terms.
  • Sloan Fellows take 7 additional required courses designed specifically for the experience level of Sloans, and that are spread over three academic terms.
  • In addition, you will select classes as "electives" to meet your learning needs. They will be a combination of courses designed specifically for Sloans, courses offered through the MBA Program, and others offered outside the Stanford Business School.
  • The co-curricular program in Leadership Development provides unique opportunities to discover new ways to think and learn about leadership throughout the year, and to develop your personal leadership style. It includes guest speakers, study trips, and active leadership-by-doing including study groups, class leadership, and project teams.
