Christina Apatow is currently working on her MSc in Electrical Engineering.  Before coming to Stanford, she graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a BS in Electrical Engineering where she focused on Embedded Systems and Wireless Power Transmission.  Throughout her undergraduate career, Christina obtained a very diverse set of both internship and extracurricular experiences.  Subsequent to founding the New Paltz chapter of SWE during her freshman year, she became heavily involved in outreach and recruitment on behalf of  STEM fields.  Christina was featured on the front of the business section for the Poughkeepsie Journal that same year after speaking during Engineers week to a group of nearly 2,000 high school and middle school students.  In doing so, she has ever since been confronted with the unavoidable issue as to why students are struggling in STEM fields, and how technology can be used to facilitate and stimulate classrooms across the world. 

Christina has worked at small, large, and startup companies and currently leads the Spatial Computing group in the TLTLab.  Here, she has worked to design a platform for children to intuitively learn electronics, microprocessors, and program complex logic conditions via visual representation of data.  Christina feels strongly about the need to reform education and is interested in continuing research in the transformation of education through technology.
