John Gardner Public Service Fellowship

2011 Gardner FellowsGardner Fellowships provide opportunities for graduating seniors to invest their talent, energy and training in public service. Six fellows, three from Stanford and three from UC Berkeley, are selected each spring. Each is provided with a $27,500 stipend plus reimbursement for health insurance for ten months full-time work with a government or nonprofit agency beginning no later than October 1 after graduation. Travel and other related expenses are provided as appropriate. Each fellow is matched with a distinguished leader in public service who works fulltime at the placement organization and guides the student's professional growth and development, and provides opportunities and exposure that exceed what is normally available to a recent graduate.
