Stanford Pride Summer Fellowship

Stanford Pride fellows have the opportunity to spend a summer addressing LGBT issues by working fulltime with an organization actively engaged in this area of work. Fellows may work in the United States or abroad.

Professional staff at the LGBT Community Resources Center (LGBT-CRC) provide academic mentorship to the students who are awarded this fellowship; they meet with fellows to determine academic and other options that will assist with preparation for and follow up on the summer learning experience.

The Haas Center, in consultation with faculty, donors, alumni, students, and community members, has developed a list of potential placements that offers students a starting point in terms of identifying potential partner organizations. It is the responsibility of the student applicants to research the organization and make contact with a representative. Some of these organizations include:

Students may also identify and research their own placements, however, those students must effectively demonstrate that their intended partner organization is a well-run organization, where they will receive adequate guidance and supervision.

Applicants may contact George Duran ([email protected]) of Stanford Pride before the application deadline for assistance with locating suitable internship placements.

Each Pride Fellow receives a base stipend of $4,000 to support travel and living expenses during the summer. Financial aid and supplemental funding is available to students who qualify.
