The Huang Teaching Fellowship allows students to teach in rural China for one year, with the possibility of extending the experience one additional year. The fellowship is open to both graduates and alumni and provides roundtrip airfare, health insurance, year round language tutoring, comprehensive training before arrival at the school (cross-cultural, TESL, Chinese language instruction), $1000 readjustment allowance, year round home office and field support, travel to the annual conference in China, and $1000 in funding for a public service project. Preference will be given to applicants with at least two years work experience.

This fellowship is offered by Volunteers in Asia (VIA) with staff support from the Haas Center for Public Service. Applicants not granted the Huang Teaching Fellowship may be considered for other VIA or Haas Center programs.
