How do I register to create my online alumni account, including my free alumni e—mail address?

If you have not yet registered to create your free online account, please see below. We highly encourage all alumni and Stanford-connected non-alumni (parents, spouses, donors, staff, friends, and more) to register.

Alumni, as defined by the completion of at least three quarters in a degree-granting program at Stanford, are eligible to access all features of www.stanfordalumni.org.

Non-alumni will not be able to access certain alumni-only features, such as Alumni Email, the Alumni Directory, and the Stanford Career Network, but will be able to take advantage of other useful features open to alumni and non-alumni alike.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

If you are alumnus/alumna, you must verify your identity. You will need to select from one of the options below during the registration process. To obtain the below information before you register, click the relevant link.

A final option is to click the "I Don't Know" button, where you will be able to create an account with guest privileges. Your account will need to be updated manually by our staff, and will result in a delay in your access to alumni-only site features. Click one of the above links to obtain identity verification information before you register.

If you are non-alumnus/alumna, you must also verify your identity, unless you have no existing affiliation with Stanford, and wish to create a guest account. If you are a parent, donor, spouse or domestic partner, Stanford faculty or staff member, or friend, you will need to select from one of the options below during the registration process. You may well have an SUID number in our records. SUID numbers are granted to all affiliates, not just students. To obtain the below information before you register, click the relevant link.

A final option is to click the "I Don't Know" button. Your account will need to be updated manually by our staff. Click one of the above links to obtain identity verification information before you register.

TIPS

  • If you are an alumnus/alumna, please note that the username you create will also become your free alumni e-mail address. For example, if the username you create is "mary.smith," your e-mail address will be "[email protected]." Choose your username carefully, as it cannot later be changed.
  • Your password must contain at least one number, and must be at least 5 characters but no more than 14 characters.
