Cardinal Rolls Over Cal in 115th Big GameB ig Game. Big victory. Stanford ran away with the Axe Saturday, beating Cal 21-3 for the Cardinal's third Big Game victory in a row. Running back Stepfan Taylor, '13, exploded for 189 yards rushing and a touchdown to cement the rout. Stanford now leads the all-time Big Game series 58-46-11. The No. 19 Cardinal faces Washington State at home this Saturday. |

Researchers Use Solar Power to Study Wild ElephantsF or Stanford scientists studying elephants in Namibia's Etosha National Park, solar energy makes all the difference, powering everything from the electric fence protecting their camp to their makeshift elephant dung lab, all without noisy generators. "We get to watch elephant society unfold before us in a very quiet environment—no generators, no people, no vehicles," said researcher Caitlin O'Connell-Rodwell of the School of Medicine. |
