House Description
Synergy has a warm, eccentric, and tight-knit community. There’s always good music playing in the kitchen and often someone on a guitar or the piano. We throw awesome parties for Halloween and Valentine’s Day and host many more intimate gatherings.
Synergy sits atop a quiet, forested hill and is an idyllic refuge from the rest of campus. When you walk up our path and under the prayer flags, you step into a different world: our big, beautiful house has a secluded lawn, garden, and—from the roof—a sweeping view of the whole bay area. We also have spacious common rooms, four porches, a movie projector room, and a fantastic open kitchen.
Like all co-ops, Synergy requires 4-5 hours of cooking/cleaning/gardening work every week. Synergy is vegetarian and serves dinner Sunday-Friday (but you certainly don’t have to be vegetarian to live here!). House policy is made by consensus, which means every resident has a voice and all decisions (noise and job policies, what social events to have, etc.) must be approved by everyone present at the consensus meeting. We also change rooms every quarter through a consensus process. Don’t hesitate to come by for dinner to find out more!
Letter/Note of Welcome:
In Synergy we care about you. We want to make sure that everyone in our house feels welcome, safe, and loved in our community. We are very sensitive and accommodating to individual needs, so please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything you are unsure about. You can email our manager list, [email protected], with any general questions.
