Patient Advocacy Program

Clinic Projects

Each student in the Patient Advocacy Program is encouraged to complete a project that meets a specific need identified by the clinic partner.  Advocates at each site meet with their preceptors mid-way through Fall Quarter to discuss project ideas and agree on preliminary project assignments.  Each student must complete a clinic-approved project work plan at the end of Fall Quarter in order to pursue a project during Winter and Spring.

Timelines and products will vary for each student and must be clearly defined and outlined through regular communication with the clinic-based project advisor.  Project groups of 2-3 students are welcomed, provided that the scope of the project is scaled appropriately and work is clearly divided equally among students.

Please note:  We only support projects that make a positive contribution to the clinics and do not create additional work and/or undue burden for clinic staff.
