Armando Garza Sada, MBA '81
Armando Garza Sada, MBA '81, of Monterrey, Mexico, is currently Chairman of Alfa, one of Mexico's largest diversified corporations. Prior to his current responsibilities he was VP Corporate Development, VP Corporate Planning, President of Sigma and President of Polioles. Mr. Garza is an active Board member of several firms and institutions: Alfa, Banco de

Frank D. Lee, PhD '77
Frank D. Lee, PhD '77, of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, is founder and CEO of Dragonfly Sciences, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company based in the US and China. Prior to this, he was a founder and CEO of Adnexus Therapeutics, Inc. and engenOS, Inc. and CTO at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In addition to serving on the board of
trustees Lee's Stanford involvement includes membership on the Bio-X Advisory Council, the School of Humanities and Sciences Dean's Council and The Stanford Challenge Leadership Council. He has been an advisor to government, academic and nonprofit institutions and authored over 90 research publications, review articles and book chapters. Lee is a trustee and chair of the capital campaign of Gould Academy in Maine and co-founded (with his wife Carol Hall, PhD '82) the Tanzania Education Corporation, a nonprofit supporting primary schools in Tanzania. He received his bachelor of science in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. Current term ends August, 2015.

Goodwin Liu, BS '91
Goodwin Liu, BS '91, of Berkeley, CA, is an Associate Justice on the California Supreme Court. He received his undergraduate degree in biological sciences and won the Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award for outstanding service to undergraduate education. Formerly a Law Professor at Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley, Mr. Liu has worked as an
associate at O'Melveny & Meyers LLP in Washington, D.C., and as a law clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. He was special assistant to the deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of Education and was a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals. Mr. Liu's Stanford involvement is wide and varied. He served as chair of the Haas Center for Public Service National Board, as a member of the Alumni Committee on Trustee Nomination, and as a vice chair of the Trustee Task Force on Minority Alumni Relations. Other Stanford service includes event chair, Think Again, Washington, D.C.; member, Stanford Alumni Association Board of Directors, Leadership Circle; The Stanford Fund; the Stanford Fund Council; the 15th Reunion Major Gifts Committee; and co-chair of the 10th Reunion Communications committee. He was also elected as a Stanford Associate. Current term ends February, 2013.

Paul Ormond, '71, MBA '73
Paul Ormond, '71, MBA '73, of Toledo, Ohio, is chairman, president and CEO of HCR ManorCare, Inc., the largest provider of long-term care and post-acute services in the country, with over 60,000 employees and more than 500 facilities in 32 states. Previously, Ormond served in a variety of management positions at Owens-Illinois, Inc., both
domestically and internationally. Ormond is a member of the Stanford Board of Trustees, and serves on the Audit committee, Finance committee, Medical Center committee and is chairman of the Athletics committee. He was The Stanford Challenge Major Gifts area chair for the central and southern U.S. and was a member of the GSB Advisory Council for six years. He has also been actively involved with his class reunion campaigns. A baseball player at Stanford, Ormond is a staunch supporter of Stanford Athletics capital campaigns and student athletes. He has chaired the Advisory Board of the University of Toledo's College of Business and served on its dean search committee and fundraising campaign steering committee. Ormond is active in a wide variety of civic causes including the Alzheimer's Association and United Way. Current term ends August, 2015.

Miriam Rivera, AB '86, AM '89, JD/MBA '95
Miriam Rivera, AB '86, AM '89, JD/MBA '95, is a Managing Partner at Ulu Ventures in Palo Alto, California, and a Kauffman Fellow at the Center for Venture Education. Ms. Rivera received her undergraduate degree in sociology, her master's degree in Spanish and a JD/MBA degree?all at Stanford. Ms. Rivera most recently worked as vice president
and deputy general counsel at Google, Inc., where she had a five-year trajectory. During her tenure, the company revenues grew from $85 million to over $10 billion, the legal department grew from two to 160 employees, and Ms. Rivera played a key role in the formation of commercial partnerships generating billions of dollars of revenue and in establishing the legal infrastructure to enable Google to operate as a public company and global business. Ms. Rivera's Stanford involvement includes serving as a featured speaker at numerous University and law and business school events. She serves on numerous boards and committees both at Stanford and within her community. Ms. Rivera recently received the 2008 Stanford GSB Jerry I. Porras Award for Latino Leadership. Current term ends February, 2013.

Richard A. Sapp, BS '78
Richard A. Sapp, BS '78, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and is retired as the head of Goldman Sachs International's Corporate Advisory and M&A; business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Sapp spent 18 years living in Europe and is now residing in Southern California. During his career at
Goldman Sachs, Mr. Sapp was responsible for building the business from market entry to the number one position in a pan-European market, while at the same time recruiting and training a new generation of European professionals who now provide the successor leadership for the $1 billion plus revenue business. Mr. Sapp has kept close ties to Stanford over the years. While in Europe, he served as co-chair of his 20th reunion committee and was a member and chairman of the Board of the Stanford Trust (UK). Mr. Sapp co-chaired his 20th reunion fundraising and has recently joined the San Diego Major Gifts Committee.

Deborah DeCotis, MBA '78
Deborah DeCotis, MBA '78, of New York, NY, is a private investor with D Squared Holdings LLC. Ms. DeCotis served as an advisory director at Morgan Stanley, where she built an impressive 22-year career and has the distinction of being one of the first women managing directors of the firm. Known for her skills in crisis management, DeCotis served as vice
vice president of Sotheby's Holdings, Inc. and lead director at Armor Holdings during its sale to BAE Systems. She has served as chair of the Business School Trust, member of the GSB Advisory Council, and member of the Leading Matters New York Outreach Committee. She received the John W. Gardner Volunteer Leadership Award from the GSB in 2008. Active in community affairs, DeCotis co-chairs the Special Projects Committee at the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and is a board member of the Helena Rubenstein Foundation and Henry Street Settlement. She earned a bachelor of arts in mathematics from Smith College. Current term ends August, 2015.
