The ANNe T. and Robert M. Bass Center

In 1988, Stanford University purchased a property at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Woodley Road in Northwest Washington. With funds generously provided by Anne T. (MLA ’07) and Robert M. Bass (MBA ’74), the venue would become the Bass Center. The main building houses students and has several program spaces, as well as apartments for Stanford faculty in residence, including:

  • The Bing Tutorial Room is an intimate seminar room for small classes and meetings, named to recognize gifts made by Helen and Peter S. Bing, 56.  Photo
  • The Robin and Donald Kennedy Student Lounge has been enjoyed by students for informal gatherings and watching television since the opening of the center. Photo
  • The Charles M. Pigott, '51 Seminar Room is a large seminar room for classes and meetings. Photo
  • The Rockefeller Room Room is used for formal gatherings, speakers, concerts, and receptions, named to recognize gifts made by Mrs. Sharon Percy Rockefeller, '66 and Senator John D. Rockefeller IV. Photo
  • The Ann Pigott Wyckoff, '48 Student Dining Room is where students enjoy breakfast and dinner each day. Photo
  • The Weintz Room is a gym with treadmills, a bicycle, an elliptical machine, and free weights, named in honor of Mr. J. Fred Weintz, Jr., '48. Photo
