Sarah Lin Bhatia holds a B.A. in Asian studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.A. in history from the University of Washington. Her regional specialization is East Asia, with a focus on China, and her research interests include censorship of the performing arts, women and society throughout China's history, and diaspora music and art. Bhatia previously worked for Stanford's Division of International, Comparative, and Area Studies; the University of Washington's East Asia Resource Center; and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. In her free time, she works on public relations projects with local artists and is an active music blogger.
