CISAC's work is organized around formal research projects as well as broader themes involving collaboration among individual scholars. Cybersecurity Threats and the Future of the Internet
Global dependence on the Internet expands by leaps and bandwidth every day. CISAC scholars are putting Stanford at the center of research on cybersecurity and the future of the Internet, drawing on experts from across campus and around the globe.

Governance, Organizations, and Security
Governance and organization issues affect government agencies' ability to transcend cultural or bureaucratic problems that can bedevil security policy. They can also impact nations' ability to cooperate with one another. Understanding and addressing these issues is a major priority for CISAC.

Health and the Environment
Health and environmental issues will heavily impact global security in the coming decades and pose important challenges for international cooperation. The relationship between the environment, and international security is attracting increased interest among scholars and policymakers alike.

CISAC scholars are actively engaged in seeking to understand the causes and effects of the movement of people, money, legal and illicit goods, and even ideas across boundaries and borders.

Nuclear Security and Risk
Since its founding as the Center for International Security and Arms Control, CISAC has worked through scholarly research and Track II diplomacy to influence policies that will help reduce the dangers posed by nuclear weapons.
