Kathleen M. Eisenhardt
Kathleen M. Eisenhardt is Professor of Strategy and Organization in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Stanford University. She has received degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, and a Ph.D. degree from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.

Professor Eisenhardt's primary research interest is in the management of firms competition in a variety of topics including strategic decision making, top management teams, alliance formation, entrepreneurship, and agency theory, using both case study and hypothesis-testing methods. She is currently studying strategic alliance formation in the semiconductor industry, game theoretic competition across time frames. Her papers have appeared in Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, and other outlets. For her work on fast decision making, she won the Pacific Telesis Foundation Award. She has also received the Whittemore Prize for her research on organizing global firms.

Robert Sutton

Professor Robert Sutton
Robert I. Sutton is Professor of Management Science and Engineering in the Stanford Engineering School, where he is Co-Director of the Center for Work, Technology, and Organization, an active researcher and cofounder in the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, an IDEO Fellow and an Honorary PeopleSoft Fellow. Sutton is also a member of the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Teaching and Learning.

Sutton received his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from The University of Michigan and has served on the Stanford faculty since 1983. He has also taught at the Haas Business School and was a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences during the 1986-87, 1994-95, and 2002-03 academic years. He has served on the editorial boards of numerous scholarly publications, and as an editor for the Administrative Science Quarterly and Research in Organizational Behavior. Sutton's honors include the award for the best paper published in the Academy of Management Journal, induction into the Academy of Management Journals Hall of Fame, the Eugene L. Grant Award for Excellence in Teaching, the McGraw-Hill Innovation in Entrepreneurship Pedagogy Award, the McCullough Faculty Scholar Chair from Stanford, and selection by Business 2.0 as a leading "management guru" in 2002.

Sutton studies the links between managerial knowledge and organizational action, innovation, and organizational performance. He as published over 90 articles and chapters in scholarly and applied publications. He has also published seven books and edited volumes.

His research and opinions are often described in the press and he is also currently writing a bi-monthly column for CIO Insight on organizational behavior. Sutton has been a guest on numerous radio and television shows.

Rebecca Henderson

Professor Rebecca Henderson
Rebecca Henderson is the Eastman Kodak Professor of management at the Sloan School of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. She specializes in technology strategy and in the broader strategic problems faced by firms in high technology industries. She has experience working in a variety of industries, including machine tools, semiconductor capital equipment, computers, aerospace and consumer goods, but her current research focuses upon the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. She received an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT in 1981 and a doctorate in Business Economics from Harvard University in 1988. Anita McGahan

Professor Anita McGahan
Anita M. McGahan is Professor of Strategic Management at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, a Senior Associate at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard University, the Senior Economist at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Global Health, and the past president of the Academy of Management’s Business Policy & Strategy Division. Her credits include two books and over 100 articles, case studies, notes and other published material on strategic issues of competitive advantage, industry evolution, and financial performance. In 2001, she was named by CIO Magazine as one of 5 international experts on the strategic use of technology. She took just two years to earn both her PhD and AM in Business Economics from Harvard University, which she was awarded in 1990. McGahan holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where she received highest academic honors as a Baker Scholar, and a BA from Northwestern University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
