Stanford Ignite: Powering Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Stanford Ignite is a nine-week, part-time certificate program that teaches innovators how to formulate, develop, and commercialize their ideas. Participants will learn core business skills and experience working on a team to develop a business plan around a new product or service for an existing organization or a new venture. This program was formerly known as the Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PRIE). 

Stanford Ignite classes are taught by the same Stanford Graduate School of Business Faculty who teach in our MBA program. Prominent executives and corporate, venture, and angel investors participate as guest speakers, expert panelists and business mentors to provide candid feedback on team projects.

Dates: Part-time, open enrollment – January 13 - March 15, 2013 
            Full-time, limited to current graduate students  – June 23 - July 19, 2013

Tuition: $9500.00 USD
*In addition to tuition, this fee includes course materials, guest speakers, program travel, and events. It does not include housing for part-time program.
*Current Stanford graduate students and post-docs are awarded a tuition subsidy by the University resulting in reduced fees (see details below).

Eligibility

Candidates for admission should meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled Stanford master's, Ph.D., M.D., or post-doc students studying non-business fields OR
  • Bay Area professionals with a minimum of a B.A. or B.S. (advanced degree preferred)
  • This program is intended for individuals who do not have graduate business training (e.g., an MBA)

Admissions

Offers of admission will be made on a rolling basis. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit all materials as soon as possible.

To be considered for admission, a complete application will contain the following:

  • Online application, including a resume and series of short essays.
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Applications will not be accepted after the Application deadline listed in the above table
