Welcome to our research group. We hope that you will have a rewarding and productive time in our lab. During your stay, you will experience the joy of scientific discovery amidst a supportive and collaborative environment. The resources at Stanford - including the facilities, faculty, staff, and students - are world-class, and I encourage you to enjoy these resources to their fullest potential. Approach your work with an open and collaborative spirit, and please be generous with the time you devote to your science and scientific outreach.
When starting work in our group, it is important that you review our safety guidelines and protocols. Safety is our top priority. Before any experiment, assess the hazards you may encounter. If you are not familiar with a procedure, please ask for assistance from someone more experienced. In general, you should familiarize yourself with chemical safety and the materials safety data sheets. Also be aware of laser safety, compressed gas safety, and cryogenic material safety. Successful science starts with safety.
