Due to necessary repairs to underground hot water piping, Loop Road is currently closed just east of the intersection with South Target Road (in front of the Security office).

February 8 update: the water system was successfully restored on Saturday, February 6. However, to ensure that the system remains operable and the area safe, a number of wrap-up tasks including pipe insulation, concrete anchor installation, backfill and paving are still required. These tasks will likely be completed -- and the road re-opened -- early next week.

During this closure, traffic cannot circle Loop Road. Drivers who wish to access the Sector 30 gate from the SLAC Main Gate must turn right when entering the laboratory, driving on the west side of the Loop Road. Access to the parking areas and buildings on the east side of the SLAC campus will not be affected.
