Students requesting academic adjustments must provide faculty with a verification letter from the Office of Accessible Education, dated in the current quarter. The letter outlines approved, reasonable accommodations that are determined on an individual basis, based on professional documentation. Accommodations that are considered reasonable do not fundamentally alter the nature of the course. Faculty who believe the requested accommodations compromise the essential requirements of a course should notify the disability adviser who prepared the verification letter. (See "Accommodating Students with Disabilities" for more information.)
