Barnaby is a Partner at HighTower Advisors LLC where he is Chief Investment Officer of Levin & Lyon Wealth Management. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1978 and spent his first, post-graduate years at Triad Systems – one of Silicon Valley’s fastest-growing, high-tech startups – where he consistently lead in sales and helped senior management at over 130 companies increase profits and productivity in every aspect of their business. He opened offices in Atlanta, Miami and Los Angeles, when he was bitten by the actor’s bug and, over the next five years, began appearing on stage and daytime television in LA, New York and London. In 1987, he returned to his native Bay Area where he began his career in Financial Services. As part of Kidder, Peabody’s Private Client Group, he worked with wealthy families and senior executives of publicly traded companies, creating financial plans and allocating across all asset classes in an integrated approach that spanned personal Mission Statements, Estate Planning and Risk Management. Prior to joining HighTower in 2010, he was Director of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; a Senior Advisor in the Citi Family Office; and the Senior Portfolio Manager on Smith Barney’s largest corporate services team. He has also written numerous articles and papers regarding portfolio strategy, the markets and our rapidly changing global economy.
