Stanford football players, staff and alumni celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss on Wednesday with students at three local elementary and middle schools as part of the Read Across America program. Read Across America Day, the National Education Association’s national reading celebration, takes place each year on or near March 2, the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, who wrote under the name of Dr. Seuss. The event is designed to celebrate the popular author and to highlight the importance of reading in America’s elementary and middle schools.
