Scientific Focus
Current Research Interests
My research focuses on the epidemiology, prevention, and outcomes of women's cancers. This work is highly collaborative within the Stanford Divisions of Oncology and Epidemiology, with the Stanford Departments of Radiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pathology, and Biomedical Informatics, and with the Cancer Prevention Institute of California.
Ongoing projects include studies of racial/ethnic differences in hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, early-phase chemoprevention and treatment trials, and computer-based simulation modeling to evaluate new approaches to cancer screening and prevention.
Clinical Trials
- A Randomized Controlled Trial using Novel Markers to Predict Malignancy in Elevated-Risk Women Recruiting
- Genetic & Pathological Studies of BRCA1/BRCA2: Associated Tumors & Blood Samples Recruiting
- Phase I MVA-BN-HER2 Vaccine in HER-2+ Breast CA Following Adjuvant Therapy Recruiting
- Phase II Gemcitabine, Carboplatin & PARP Inhibitor BSI-201 in Neoadjuvant Tx of Triple-Neg Breast CA No longer recruiting
- A Phase 3, Multi-Center Study of Gemcitabine/Carboplatin, With or Without BSI-201, in Patients With ER-, PR-, and Her2-Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer Active, not recruiting
