Patient Education

The Women’s Place

One of the main areas of focus for Women’s Health is the provision of educational resources to women.  We seek to promote healthier women who can act as informed participants in their health care by creating a patient base of well-informed and educated women’s health care consumers. As an adjunct to our future clinical Women’s Health Center, Women's Health will create The Women’s Place: a resource for understanding women’s health issues. The Women’s Place will offer such things as a patient library, computers for interactive sessions, patient counseling, and educational programs. Women's Health is working closely with the existing Health Library at Stanford to maximize utilization of both resources and limit duplication of services.

Outreach Program Goals

Women's Health also seeks to provide education and information to women in the community through outreach programs. Classes, lectures, and ongoing seminar programs are currently organized on various topics of identified need, and will be expanded in future.

Women’s Health Information Website

The Health Library at Stanford has a health information website that includes extensive patient-focused information on topics in women’s health.
