Lucas Johnson

Lucas is a Public Policy senior from Annapolis, Maryland with a concentration in the design of public institutions. He is interested in how (or whether) citizens and representatives use information to make civic decisions. During Spring quarter 2010, Lucas attended Stanford in Washington, where he took some of his favorite classes, like Federal Education Policy and interned with the Recovery Act Team in the Secretary's office at the U.S. Department of Energy. Lucas spent his freshman summer working as a Grassroots Coordinator for the No Child Left Inside Coalition, advocating for nationwide environmental education standards. On campus, he is the webmaster for Students for a Sustainable Stanford. An avid musician, Lucas is minoring in Music, Science & Technology. He plays drum set in Cardinal Calypso - Stanford's premier steel pan band, takes pipe organ lessons in Memorial Church, and records original songs. After graduating, Lucas plans to move to Austin to pursue music for as long as he can stand not working on policy.
