A generous gift from the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation has endowed a chair in Buddhist Studies at Stanford. The Foundation’s $2.5 million gift, with matching funds from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, establishes The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Professorship of Buddhist Studies in the Department of Religious Studies.
The search for the first holder of the new chair, who will be a specialist in the field of Chinese Buddhism, is now underway and applications closed on November 25, 2011.
