HTTP Negotiate

HTTP Negotiate is available for a limited set of browsers and operating systems. HTTP Negotiate enables supported browsers to access protected web sites using Kerberos credentials obtained from your computer login. This allows you to access most WebAuthed sites without having to re-enter your SUNet ID and password.

HTTP Negotiate is currently disabled.

WebLogin Advanced Settings Help

Please review the following information before changing your settings:

  • Some web-based services at Stanford always require that you enter your login information, even if you are already logged in through WebAuth.
  • For HTTP Negotiate to work, your computer must be configured to obtain Kerberos credentials.Mac OS X users can run Kerberos Commander. Windows users can install Kerberos for Windows. UNIX users can refer to the Kerberos at Stanford web site.
  • You should be comfortable manually configuring your browser before you attempt to use HTTP Negotiate. If you are not, you should continue to use WebLogin as you are used to doing.
