Stanford University was recently recognized as a 2012 Best Place to Work in the Bay Area. The ranking was a result of survey responses from more than 5,000 staff members who confirmed that the spirit, culture and work place environment of Stanford is among the best in the Bay Area and beyond.
This was the first year Stanford participated in the contest, which recognized more than 125 companies in five different categories based on number of employees. Stanford ranked seventh in the largest organization category – organizations with more than 1,500 employees. Stanford ranked as the top institution of higher education to work for in the Bay Area across all categories of the contest.
“Results from the contest confirm what we know from working here: our work environment is collegial, unique, and challenges us to excel!” said Valerie Beeman, Director of Communications for University Human Resources, who coordinated Stanford’s contest participation. “Moreover, it clearly shows that our employees and their workplace satisfaction are our priority.”
Stanford also qualified to be ranked in the 2012 Top Workplaces in the Bay Area contest. Rankings will be revealed in June.
