Graduate Diversity Steering Committee Application Due THIS Sunday October 21st, 2012

October 19th, 2012

The Graduate Student Council Diversity Advocacy Committee is currently recruiting graduate and professional students from all seven of Stanford’s schools to serve on the Vice Provost for Graduate Education’s Graduate Diversity Steering Committee. Committee members should be interested in advancing graduate student diversity at Stanford.

One of the chief concerns of the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education is to promote the success of students from a variety of backgrounds, including those underrepresented within research universities. In order to develop guidelines and priorities for this endeavor, Vice Provost Patti Gumport has composed a committee of concerned faculty, staff, and graduate students. The Graduate Student Council has agreed to help identify 4 graduate and/or professional students to serve on this committee. The tenure for the graduate representative positions will be the 2012-2013 academic year. The positions will require a time commitment of roughly one 2-hour meeting per quarter (Fall, Winter, and Spring). Further questions about the committee and completed applications can be sent to Fanuel Muindi, Chair of the GSC Diversity Advocacy Committee, at [email protected]

Applications are THIS Sunday October 21st, 2012.
