Alfredo Martinez is a senior born and raised in San Diego, CA, and majoring in History within the Public History/Public Service track. Being from San Diego means he's got a deep-rooted love for Mexican food, good weather, and the San Diego Chargers (and a frustration with how they're each not as good away from home). On The Farm, Alfredo applies his outside-of-class time into his roles as Marketing Chair for Stanford Colleges Against Cancer/Relay For Life and as Focus Assistant for Branner Hall's public service focus. He's become intensely interested over the years in how to use technology and social networks to promote and accomplish social good. If you want to chat, Alfredo can be reached by email at alfredom[at] stanford [dot] edu or on Twitter at @alfredom2012. |

Adam Smith, originally from England, is currently pursuing an MFA in Documentary Film at Stanford. Before arriving at Stanford, he graduated with a degree in 'Critical Fine Art Practice', and spent time working as a documentary filmmaker and journalist in Europe and Asia. His documentaries center around an interest in conflicting ideas, whether this be the challenge Tibetan monks face between reconciling their traditions with their new life in the American suburbs in "Shangri-La", the epic undertaking of building a vast city in the desert in "DubaiWorld" or the reality of military couples face with being apart in "Love & Allegiance". He is currently working on his thesis project about immigrants trying to 'make-it' as actors in Hollywood, and an on-going project about the development of Ordos city in Inner Mongolia. |

Sara Lannin recently graduated as a member of the Stanford class of 2010 after majoring in American Studies. Reluctant to leave The Farm, she is stayed on as a graduate student in the Department of Communication, where she is graduated with a M.A. degree in Media Studies, with a focus on the influence of social networks. Sara’s interest in social media stems not only from her personal use of networking sites, but also from previous internship experiences at OpenTable, Facebook and Yahoo! News. When not checking her Twitter stream, Sara can probably be found running the Dish, reading, cheering for her hometown Minnesota sports teams, or trying a new recipe. You can reach her at slannin [at] stanford [dot] edu or find her on twitter at @slannin. |
