Axess Information

What is Axess?
Axess is the web-based system where members of the Stanford community review and update information in their electronic records. Using Axess, students perform functions such as: add, drop, and evaluate classes; update addresses; review grades; request official transcripts; review degree requirements status; review and accept financial aid awards; and check their University bill. Faculty, instructors, and advisors can submit grades; review evaluations; and monitor advisees. Staff members can monitor financial and benefit information and register for training courses.

Your SUNet ID and password are required each time you use Axess. For your personal information to remain secure, it is vital that you not share your SUNet ID password with anyone. You may not authorize anyone to use Axess on your behalf. It is a violation of University policy to misrepresent yourself, and you may lose student privileges or be subject to disciplinary action if you use another student's SUNet ID password, or if you deliberately provide false information to Axess.

Who can login?
  • Students:  Axess is available for current students (this includes those on leave) and former students who have been active within the past five years. Depending on your student status (current, on leave, former) and your career (undergraduate, graduate, Law, GSB, or Med) different menu options are available to you.
  • Advisors:  Axess is available to any member of the Stanford community who is currently serving as an academic advisor to one or more students.
  • Faculty:  Axess is available to any member of the Stanford community who is considered an instructor of one or more academic classes. This includes faculty and teaching staff who are primary instructors of an academic class, as well as administrative staff members whom they have designated as instructor proxies to assist them with data entry, etc.
  • Employees:  Axess is available to all Stanford employees, including temporary, casual, and student employees. Information related to working at Stanford is available.
  • PeopleSoft HR/SA users:  Axess is available to those members of the Stanford community who have been trained and authorized to use the PeopleSoft Human Resources Management System or the PeopleSoft Student Administration system.
  • Training (STARS) users:  Axess is available to any member of the Stanford community (faculty, staff, students, visitors) seeking to register for training via STARS (Stanford Training and Registration System). Depending on your status (learner, instructor, learning administrator), different menu options may be available to you.
  • Guests:  Guests may use Axess to search for academic classes (SUNet ID not required), access Stanford ePay if they have been designated as an authorized payer on a student account (log-in required), or check on the status of an active undergraduate application (application email address required).

What's needed to login?
  • SUNet ID and password: Provides access to the Stanford University Network (SUNet) and its services, and identifies authorized users of these services. Each member of the Stanford electronic community creates a unique SUNet ID and password for him or herself.  See the SUNet ID website for more information.  A SUNet ID is not required to use the Guest Search for Academic Classes.
