Fee Waivers: Applicants who are citizens or registered permanent residents of the U.S. may be eligible for waiver of the application fee if they can obtain a GRE Fee Reduction Certificate for the current academic year, 2012-13.

  • Fee waivers are not granted to individuals who are not able to obtain a valid GRE Fee Reduction Certificate.
  • Information on the GRE Fee Reduction program can be obtained from Educational Testing Service (ETS)
  • After your GRE Fee Reduction eligibility has been established by your Financial Aid Office and you are issued the GRE Fee Reduction Certificate, you must follow these directions:
    • Requests for fee waivers must be received at least 15 business days prior to the departmental deadline to apply.
    • Scan a copy of the completed and signed GRE Fee Reduction Certificate. To be valid, the certificate must be affixed with an official school stamp or seal and signed by the appropriate school official.
    • Email the scan to Graduate Admissions, [email protected], using Fee Waiver Request as your subject. Include your full legal name and contact information in your email. If your application fee waiver is approved, you will be given a code to enter in the payment section of the online application.
    • Do not submit your application until a decision has been made on your fee waiver request. Refunds are not given to applicants who pay for the application themselves instead of using their granted application fee waiver.
  • Those who are not US citizens or registered permanent residents are not eligible for a fee waiver.
