Doing Business with SLAC
As SLAC’s scientific mission has broadened, the laboratory is also expanding its relationships with industry, potential funding agencies and suppliers of key goods and services.
SLAC seeks to develop new relationships with industry and other government agencies to better bridge the gap between scientific discoveries and their practical applications, such as new types of batteries, solar cells and catalysts.
To learn more about SLAC’s capabilities, please contact Mark Hartney.
The Office of Intellectual Property and Research Partnerships focuses on identifying and managing SLAC-developed intellectual property and establishing new research and licensing relationships with the private sector. The office works to explore potential funding opportunities from non-governmental entities, patent and commercialize SLAC technologies and help facilitate agreements for working with industry.

The SLAC Sponsored Research Office manages the budget aspect of sponsored-research activities at SLAC. The SSRO facilitates the submission of proposals to funding agencies and administers the resulting awards.

SLAC is establishing a Supplier Management Program (SMP) to actively manage relationships with suppliers of key goods and services, from commodities to construction projects.
