Personal bio
Michael Arcega is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in sculpture and extended medias. His art, though visual, revolves largely around language. He received his BFA in Interdisciplinary studies at the San Francisco Art Institute and his MFA at Stanford University. He has had solo exhibitions at the The deYoung Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego, The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu, Steve Turner Contemporary in Los Angeles, Nicelle Beauchene Gallery in New York, and Marx and Zavattero in San Francisco. Arcega is a recipient of a Joan Mitchell MFA Grant, Murphy Cadogan Fine Arts Fellowship, Montalvo Arts Center residency, and a Headlands Center for the Arts residency & an MFA fellow award. |
