Professor Masahiko Aoki delivered a Presidential Lecture entitled “The Four Phases of Economic Development and Institutional Evolution in China and Japan” at the 16th World Congress of the International Economic Association, which took place July 4-8, 2011 at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Professor Avner Greif organized an invited session on “Economic Performance of Civilization”, Professor Lawrence Goulder on “International Competitiveness, Burden Sharing, and Efficiency in Climate Policy”, and Professor Han Hong on ”Empirical Economic Models of Dynamic Games and Unobserved Heterogeneity” for the Congress. Professor Avner Greif is a new member of the executive committee.
